Rumours of a new musical
We hear that Nolan is currently in talks with various performers at the moment, and word has it that he has found the next story for a rock opera, although he is playing this rumour down at the moment.
Clive Nolan: “It would be great to produce another show, but I’m really not ready to start on another three year journey yet – I want to see the outside world and meet some people first!” Agnieszka Swita:
“Clive will know if and when it's time to start again. I hope it's soon.”
'She' in South America! ![]() Negotiations have been ongoing in a bid to take the whole show to South America. We are now pleased to announce that the deal is on! Caamora will be performing ‘She’ right across South America in July/August 2009. These shows will be performed by a few of the original UK line up in combination with South American musicians and singers. Watch this space! Clive Nolan: There are still loads of details to sort out, but we can finally see that the show will happen over there. I’m very happy with this because it gives me a chance to improve a few things. Agnieszka Swita: This is incredibly exciting - a chance to perform ten or twelve shows over in South America... I can’t wait. 'She' - The Film? Caamora are in talks with a production company about a possible film version of ‘She’. This would make a wonderful accompaniment to the CD and DVD releases already available. Agnieszka Swita: It’s really just an idea at the moment, but we have been talking about some excellent locations for filming. This would also give us a chance to go for a ‘fully theatrical’ performance of the show. Caamora on TV During their stay in Bolivia Clive Nolan and Agnieszka Swita appeared on a 'magazine programme' on Bolivian television. Keep and eye on the Caamora Myspace site, and part of this may appear at some point. Clive Nolan: It was a bizarre experience, and I found myself sitting behind a large fluffy panda, who I believe may have been the star of the show..;) Mixes finished! ![]() Finally Caamora has packed up and moved out of Thin Ice Studio with a large sack of mixes and masters for the forthcoming ‘She’ CDs and DVDs. Clive Nolan: "It's an enormous relief to have finally completed this major project. Sitting in the studio listening to the last mixes from the DVD soundtrack, I suddenly realised that we are really done! Hard to believe." Due to various problems, the final Caamora Thin Ice sessions were delayed, so 'She' will be released about a month later than expected. Worth the wait though: there are plenty of different formats to choose from - CD, Digipack, Vinyl, DVD, and even a box set with even more extras! Agnieszka Swita: The Box Set Bonus Disk gave us a great opportunity to re-create some of the ‘piano and voice’ performances Clive and I did during last year. There will be six special performances of Caamora songs, and some extra interview footage. 'She' live Well, we finally did it! 'She' was performed live in front of a packed house in Katowice. It was a serious challenge, which involved up to 25 people on stage as well as technicians and camera crews. But it all came together on the night. Check out the comments of some of the key performers. The official She premiere The band will perform 'She' project on 31st October 2007 at the Wyspianski Theatre, Katowice, Poland. The musical version of 'She' is based on the classic novel of the same name by Victorian adventure writer H. Rider Haggard. The concert will be filmed for the future DVD release which will accompany the 2 CD album, set for release on 21st January 2008. This represents the culmination of the last two years' work, and will feature a host of musicians as well as eye catching visuals and dramatic stage show. Clive Nolan: "We still don't know exactly how this show will turn out; there are many ideas on the table and things are developing all the time. Whatever happens, it's going to be a terrific event - not to be missed!"
Christina adds her voice! ![]() The Magenta singer has agreed to fill the final guest vocalist slot for the 'She' project. After a recent meeting, and some impromptu singing, it became clear that she was the ideal person for the role of Ustane. Christina was enthusiastic about the project and keen to try something a little different. The cast for the four main characters looks as follows: Ayesha - Agnieszka Swita Leo - Clive Nolan Holly - Alan Reed (Pallas) Ustane - Christina Booth (Magenta) Agnieszka Swita: "It's great to know, after all this time, to be able to put a face and a voice to the other roles. It's another important step forward."
Canada dates confirmed Caamora will be playing two concerts in Canada: Clive and Agnieszka will be playing a full set of around two hours, and there will be no support act. The Caamora performance will feature songs from Arena, Strangers on a Train and Nolan/Wakeman as well as material from the 'She' project, and some specially written songs for their tour. Clive Nolan: "We're both looking forward to taking Caamora to Canada for the first time. I'd like to thank Robert Dansereau for making this visit possible."
South America dates confirmed Caamora will be visiting South America again in May. They are headlining a festival in Buenos Aires as well as making appearances with numerous musicians in Argentina and Chile. Check the tour guide for concert details. They will also be taking the opportunity to promote the 'She' project with plenty of personal appearances and interviews. Clive Nolan: "I always love visiting South America to play. The warmth and enthusiasm out here is incredible."
Alan Reed ![]() Pallas vocalist Alan Reed has signed on to play the part of Holly in the ‘She’ project. Nolan and Reed have worked together in the past on the second Strangers on a Train album and more recently they were seen together on stage with rock band Neo. Clive Nolan: "This is great news for Caamora, because I know that Alan will bring his own special brand of drama and power to the vocals."
Drummer for 'She' ![]() Scott Higham has signed on for the position of Drummer in the 'She' project. He is currently a member of heavy rock band ShadowKeep and is recording an album with them at Clive's Thin Ice Studio. In the past he has played for artists such as Angel Witch, Metallic Blue and Euphoria, and is currently a drum tutor. Scott recently dropped into Thin Ice Studio and put down some drum tracks on a few Caamora songs... Agnieszka Swita: "We really felt a new energy surging through the Caamora
material. Clive and I are looking forward to working with Scott".
